IIHS Grants Top Safety Pick+ Award to 2017 Kia Forte
The Insurance Institute for Highway Safety (IIHS) recently announced that the 2017 Kia Forte is a Top Safety Pick+, handing the institute’s top award to Forte models built after March 2017 that come outfitted with optional front crash prevention and high intensity discharge headlights.
In order for a vehicle to receive a Top Safety Pick+ award, it must earn a good rating in each of the five IIHS crashworthiness tests and also earn an advanced or superior rating for front crash prevention and an acceptable or good rating in headlight tests.
In a press release, Orth Hedrick, vice president, Product Planning KMA, commented, “Kia Forte is one of our most popular and best-selling vehicles. The new distinction of TSP+ rating from the highly-respected IIHS reconfirms the high priority we place on safety for our customers and why Forte remains a favorite in the compact sedan class.”
