Important roadside emergency tips to always remember!
We all want to keep the streets of Lewis Center safe, and the best way to do this is to handle roadside emergencies logically, calmly, and procedurally. Below are a few tips to help do just that:
If you are in an accident, do not move your vehicle. Even if rude people on the road are insistent about you blocking their way, everyone involved in the accident must leave their vehicles where they are until the police have had a chance to assess the situation. It’s in everyone’s benefit to follow this guideline!
In the event that you’ve had a flat or a blowout, continue driving on the rim until you can pull over somewhere far from traffic, safely. Don’t value your rims over your own life or that of those around you.
Following that, be sure to pull as far away from traffic as is safely possible. Put down flares and other signals so that drivers on the road are well aware of your presence.
Never get out of your car if someone offers assistance, only ask that they call someone who can help such as police, or a towing company!
